Re-Missing You

Since last we spoke, I have had a really hard time keeping up with this blog... It has been a cross between I can't think of anything to say and I have been so busy putting out fires that I have not had any energy left to update you on all of the progress. But things have happened in the last few (many) weeks that I do need to share:

1. We finally closed on our cute little house and today we bought a refrigerator and a dishwasher!

2. We are moving tomorrow and Tuesday! We are going to try to move after work each day. Crazy, huh?

3. Baby is great! We get to find out if it's a boy or a girl in the next 2 weeks. Super excited to start decorating!

4. We took a trip down Route 66. It was AWESOME!

5. I'm worried about Atticus and the move. He is an indoor/outdoor cat and I really don't want him to run away.

I will post more in the next few days but this is a little preview of things to come :)

Pregnancy Pants

So I'm getting ready for school to start up again!

I feel:
*excited
*nervous
*tired
*sad for summer to be nearly over

Part of my end-of-the-summer ritual is buying new fall staples. This
year, I get to buy pregnancy pants! This did not sound fun to me when I thought about it. I imagined myself in giant muumuus and just looking and feeling miserable.

After one day of shopping, let me tell you, I am totally sold on pregnancy pants! The pants I tried on are so flattering on my body, I found myself wondering where they had been all my life! I even found khaki's (which I generally hate). And boy, are they comfortable! This year I am looking forward to being one of the most stylish people at my school!

I plan to buy:
*The perfect khaki pants I found
*Lots of colorful tunics
*Black capri's
*Black pants
*Lots of prints

Generally I am a black shirt, black pants kind of girl. Pregnant Cathy is going to be as colorful as a rainbow!

New (old) Idea for Bathroom Lighting

These retail for $50-$100 and can be made for $15-$25. I love them! Easy to DIY and super cute with lots of character!
Here's a double sconce:

I also love the chandelier, but I think if I only had mason jar lighting, it would be a little bit of overkill!

Tidbits

Things I don't like about being pregnant:

1. I miss Coffee!
2. I hate being nauseous!
3. Vodka Soda with Lemon and Lime

Things I like about being pregnant:

1. Attention! I know I'm not supposed to say that, but it feels nice when people acknowledge this monumental event in my life.
2. Decorating a room any way I want without my husband's input.
P.S. I would never do this, but if I wanted to I could because I'm the one carrying the baby! Haha!

3. Knowing that soon, we will have the best baby that ever existed!

Puj Baby Tub

This is the Puj Baby Tub. The biggest complaint that I have about baby stuff is that it is all plastic-y and ugly. Don't get me wrong, I know that babies need stuff, I just wish it was a little more stylish. This baby tub takes care of all of that. It is so utilitarian. I can hold Baby in one hand and fold/unfold it with the other. I am definitely keeping this one in mind.

Dining Room Inspiration

I love this dining room. I think it's the perfect marriage of modern and country. I love the oak dining table and have always wanted one. And of course, it's by my favorite designer, Sarah Richardson.

Baby May Have a New Nest!

We put an offer on our house! After 2 days of delay, we finally got it together and put in a house offer! We should find out if it is accepted as early as tomorrow! I'm not going to hold my breath though because you never know what might go wrong.

In other news, Baby is making me so sick I can't move at all in the afternoons. It's a good thing I only teach summer school in the mornings, because I can't seem to get off the couch from about 2 p.m. until about 6 p.m. Any starch is making me sick which is really hard, because I love all things bread. Meat doesn't make me nauseous, but I don't really like the look or texture, so I just close my eyes and eat quickly.

I have been exercising though! I wish I could get a personal trainer, but unfortunately, I cannot afford the massive amounts of money that they require... and by the way, who can?!?!? It's absolutely ridiculous! Oh well... Maybe I'll see a pregnant person at my gym and find out what she does and just copy her :) If you have any suggestions, please send them my way!

Decorating Ideas that I Love

I love this DIY chandelier made from decorative paper and a lamp shade. It would make a great mobile for il bambino.

Here's another mobile idea. Isn't this adorable? I love the airiness of it! I even love the colors! I am thinking about this for the nursery, but if it's a boy, I'll have to think of something other than butterflies to put on it.

I absolutely love the wall stencil and I'm thinking about doing a more subtle version in the nursery!

Pregnant!

2 days ago, I took a home pregnancy test and guess what! Yep, I'm knocked up! Daniel and I are over the moon and I'd like to think Atticus (the cat) is too! He spent an hour snuggling on my belly- which, if you know anything about Atticus, is very rare for him. This will be our first child, so the whole thing is quite new.

I went to the midwife today and confirmed my pregnancy. I also signed up for my first appointment (July 15) and toured the birthing center. It's amazing! It's so homey and has that feel of a bed and breakfast... but it's sterile and they are medically trained! I will keep you posted on the whole thing!

In other news, Daniel and I are making an offer on our first home today. I hope everything works out because we really love this home and I really want to start decorating a baby room! Below is an image of the house we are offering on.

Cute, huh?
The house has all wood floors, a 2 car garage, 3 bedrooms, a completely redone kitchen and 2 redone bathrooms. It's super cute inside and the only thing it needs is a new outside paint color (just to spice it up), and some landscaping! Of course, if we get this house, we will be making it baby ready and I will definately keep you posted on the progress.
